About Me

I have experience working with trauma, betrayal, depression, anxiety, fears, substance abuse, codependency, relationship problems, and grief and loss, including pet loss.   I work with individuals, families, adolescents and adults.

I am a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA).  I am an EMDR Certified Therapist and have found EMDR to be a very effective therapy to process painful experiences, triggers, and areas of feeling "stuck" in a person's life.

I earned my bachelor's degree with a major in psychology and my Master of Science in Community Counseling at the University of Nebraska Omaha.

I am a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP), Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP), Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC), and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), all in the state of Nebraska.  I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).

I am an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Certified Therapist.  I was trained by the EMDR Institute.

Before starting in private practice, I worked for a nonprofit agency and gained valuable experience with substance use, severe and persistent mentally ill (SPMI), and co-occurring disorders clientele.  I led a Level I outpatient substance use group and provided substance use services, including completing substance use evaluations for adults.

I am an independent consultant with R3 Continuum.

I have experience facilitating process groups, and I facilitate small groups for New Life Ministries at their workshops across the country several times a year:  http://newlife.com/workshops/
